Company Profile
We are a family of companies,
owned and operated by a real family of professional craftsmen. We look
forward to serving all of your home and home improvement needs with
the very best of materials and craftsmanship.
The year was 1978, when a father and his four sons formed a business
that has endured and grown due to hard work, true ethics, and a great
respect for the customer and the work we do for them. It is a well
known fact, that a happy customer is the best form of advertisement.
Word of mouth can make or break you. Well, we must be doing something
right, ....because we're proud to say that our many satisfied
customers are truly the greatest source of more customers as well as
repeat business.
From the beginning we have been building and remodeling homes and
as time has progressed, we've found it both rewarding and necessary to
create new relationships to satisfy the needs of our customers for
better products, and to give ourselves better control over the
installation of these products.
In 1984 we felt that we could build a better cabinet than the
custom ones we had been purchasing elsewhere. With this in mind, we
went looking for a site to set up our own cabinet shop. This new
undertaking was dubbed "Mazloom Cabinets." We've moved the shop from
it's original location, but by adding this facility to our business,
we are able to provide an extremely high end product with the look and
feel of fine furniture, and more importantly, we not only control the
quality, but we can also regulate the time it takes to produce them,
so we're not at someone else's mercy.
On a late night fishing trip, in August of 1994, with a cousin who
has over thirty years experience in the flooring and home improvement
markets, another idea was hatched. We believed that we could form a
partnership that would not only care for our respective business'
floor covering needs, but would be able to stand on it's own. So....
that October, "Allied Flooring Co." was born.
Since opening Allied Flooring Co. showroom in 2001, we noticed an interesting
trend in our cliental that would influence our future growth. In
almost every instance of selling a bathroom floor, we ended up
contracting the complete remodel of the bathroom from start to finish
including plumbing, electrical, drywall, paint, cabinetry, and tops.
Following this lead, and having years of kitchen cabinetry experience,
we decided to expand Allied, with it’s retail presence, into the
kitchen remodeling end of the business. With this in mind, in 2003 we
expanded the business to include a few kitchen and bath vignettes. We
added more tile, since that seemed to be the thing that was selling
best and bringing in the total remodeling jobs. It was a natural
progression of events.
The partners, owning a property located at 15426
Pouncey Tract Road in Rockville, Virginia, decided to open a
showroom in January of 2007. This location is a Mohawk Color
Center Store displaying many of Mohawk’s fine flooring products
including Tile, Woods, Laminates, Vinyls, and of course, Mohawk Carpets,
as well as Quick Step laminate, Dal-Tile, Congoleum vinyl, Mohawk
Floor cleaning and care products, and more.
One day in the summer of 2006, the regional
representative for the Floor to Ceiling group contacted us and asked
us to look into joining their franchise. He had noticed our business
and thought that we fit the profile of their group. We politely
agreed to talk to him, with no idea of ever considering joining any
franchise. He told us about their organization and invited us to tour
a store in Maryland. Circumstances prevailed that precluded making
the trip to Maryland, but the rep’s easy going persistence won out
when he invited us to Las Vegas to the group’s annual Showcase event
in March of 2007, all expenses paid, of course. After seeing the
products at the show and getting a good understanding of how the
franchise worked, meeting with many of the Floor to Ceiling employees
as well as many satisfied franchise owners, we felt that it was a good
way for us to move forward in our quest to truly being a one stop shop
for interior home improvements as well as new home buyers. Looking to
the future for growth and based on our previous success in the kitchen
and bath remodeling side of the business, in August of 2007 we joined
the Floor to Ceiling buying group franchise and in January, 08, we
formally changed the name of the Broad Street Showroom to Allied Floor
To Ceiling. At the Floor to Ceiling store, we are now able to offer
our customers lighting and plumbing fixtures, window treatments,
blinds, hardware, mirrors, decorator accessories, and wall covering,
along with quality flooring products, tiles, cabinetry, counter tops
and more under one roof.
We now offer interior design services along with
our building and remodeling expertise to give our customers a complete
finished product to truly make their house a home.
So when you contract with Allied Floor to
Ceiling to do your remodeling project, or Commonwealth Home Building
Corp. to build your home, you simply come to our showroom and make all
the selections for your project without the hassle of traveling all
over town. This not only saves time, it gives us control of the
quality and time element involved in completing the project. At
Allied Floor to Ceiling, we not only supply the cabinets, counter
tops, flooring, and window treatments, we install everything we sell
including the kitchen sink. We can even have the bedspread fabricated
to match your new drapes!
With our many years of experience in the home building and
remodeling fields, we have developed a great working relationship with
the best trade contractors in the area. When you need something done,
and you want it done right the first time, give us a call, we're sure
you'll be glad you did.
We appreciate you taking the time to read about us. We look forward
to helping you with all of your home or home improvement needs.
